Irrfan Khan out of Welcome To Karachi?

Irrfan Khan out of Welcome To Karachi?

Actor Irrfan Khan was supposed to reach London to shoot for Welcome To Karachi. The actor was supposed to leave for London today. However, if reports are to be believed, the actor has declined to board the flight. In fact, Irrfan called up the film's producer, Vashu Bhagnani and informed that he would be resuming shooting next month.

A source close to the unit says, "Initially, Vashu thought Irrfan was joking. But Irrfan told him that he was serious." The producer was upset with the actor’s response. He said, "I'm shocked. How can someone back out at the last minute, leaving the entire cast and crew stranded in a foreign country? I thought Irrfan was kicked about the script. He's like family and I tried reasoning with him. But he refused to relent."

Vashu confirms that actor Irrfan Khan is no more a part of the venture as of now. "I could wait for him for a couple of days but he can't expect me to wait for a month in London," continued the annoyed filmmaker. "Imagine the kind of money I am losing because of Irrfan's sudden decision?"

"Frankly, I don't know if I can get another actor at such a short notice. We might just have to come back to Mumbai. Abhi toh kuch samajh mein nahin aa raha hai," he complained.

When contacted, Irrfan said, "I shall talk about this but not today. I am very busy."

The film went on floors on September 5 in Mumbai amidst much fanfare. Irrfan, along with co-actors Arshad Warsi and Vrajesh Hirjee attended the mahurat.
