    Remaking a classic movie is the latest trend that the Bollywood directors are following these days. We have seen many remakes likeDon,DevdasSholay, Karz, Parineetaetc.Directors make a movie because they feel that it’s a must win situation but the poor response to Sajid Khan’sHimmatwalahas forced directors to give a thought to this question that is the idea of making remakes good?

    Experts such as veterans and senior actors think that the old classics should not be touched. Deepti Naval, 56, the maker of originalChasme Baddoorcomments, “To create remakes has become a shortcut instead of finding newer ideas and working hard.” But the young generation feels that it’s no harmreincarnatinga previous fine work. Tapasee, 25, expresses, “Remakes are a hit formula; they mould films into modern times and have great potential.” Film expert Atul Mohal feels that the films should be remade only when a director can pay fair tribute to the original one. The remake should match up rather than insult the genuine work.
