The film is supposed to be produced by Karan Johar and directed by Karan Malhotra. Apparently Karan Johar met Jackie Shroff and offered the role. "Jackie didn't take long to say yes. Karan (Malhotra) plans to tweak the role to suit the Indian audiences and both the director and producer agreed that Jackie will be a good fit for the role," a source close to the unit said. Jackie confirmed the news, saying, "Like with any role, be it Parinda, Ram Lakhan or Dhoom 3, or any other film, I am excited about this one too. I have to shoot for this from September to January and we are working out the dates." Gavin O'Connor’s Warrior is a film about two brothers entering a mixed martial arts (MMA) tournament and their struggling relationship with each other and with their father.
