The havoc that superstar Rajinikanth starrer Kabali has brought along with itself is looking unstoppable to a large extent. Having already emerged this year’s highest opener beating the likes of Sultan, the film has also broken all previous overseas box office records too. Taking the US/Canada and UK box office by complete storm, the film put some astounding numbers on the show.

Kabali has now officially become the highest grossing Indian film in the opening weekend in the overseas market. While Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 had previously made around 63 crores in its overseas opening weekend, the Rajini starrer has gone past the figure and has garnered more than 75 crores. In the historic turn of events, the film has largely dominated key overseas markets and was the first choice of cinegoers in Malaysia. Going by the current trends and film’s momentum, it is safe to assume the film will end up breaking more coveted records.

One the other hand, having already made over Rupees 100 crores through the south region, the film also dominated the North Indian markets. Despite the likes of Madaari, Great Grand Masti and Sultan, the dubbed version of the film did find a lot of audiences all across the north region. The Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions of the film made 19.25 crores which is quite impressive.

While the film is looking solid to break all previous records set by Tamil biggies, it will closely have to be observed weather it goes past Baahubali in overseas markets. The Telugu biggie’s Hindi version had made more than 100 crores at the box office. Going by the kind of average word of mouth Kabali is getting its way, it’s unlikely those records would get shattered.
