Kalki Koechlin Talk About Beauty In Bollywood

Margarita with a Straw actress Kalki Koechlin feels that Bollywood needs to broaden its definition of beauty. She believes that the actresses are always under stress of looking beautiful and that too, what the industry considers as beautiful. This forces young girls to change their looks.

In an interview with PTI, the 32-year-old actress shared, “The pressure of looking good is very difficult for us to handle. But, we do have examples of unconventional beauties. I don’t look conventional, Richa (Chadha) doesn’t. I feel we need to celebrate diversity of beauty in the industry and understand that there is not really one idea to it”.

Kalki revealed that initially, she was also asked to change her looks but she chose not to and believed that her acting will do the talking. Though she does not completely agree with Bollywood’s definition of beauty, the actress believes in staying fit, dressing up and looking glamorous. Kalki can be seen on the big screen in the film ‘Waiting‘, where she shares screen space with Naseeruddin Shah.
