KBC Gets It's First Crorepati...And Here's What She Wants To Do With The Money

Jamshedpur’s Anamika Mazumdar is the first person to win Rs 1 crore on the current season 9 of Kaun Banega Crorepati . She made it to the jackpot question worth Rs 7 crore but decided to quit as she didn’t know the answer.

Anamika is a social worker and is married with two kids. A source told The Indian Express that host Amitabh Bachchan was impressed with how she played the game. “Anamika was a very practical and reasonable kind of a person who took each question very seriously. When she reached the crore mark, even with no lifeline left, she reasoned all the options before choosing the right answer. Even Big B was surprised with her confidence and risk-taking attitude,” the source said.

With her prize money, Anamika said she wants to work towards uplifting the women of her region.

The lucky contestant was joined by her mother for the show. “Anamika’s mother was against her taking the bet, as, without a lifeline, she was up for a very big risk. It was her knowledge and reasoning skills that made her win. Both women were left in tears with happiness and excitement. Her mother hugged her tight, pride shining on her face. It was a big moment of joy for the entire team as they finally got their crorepati,” the source added.

The episode was shot on Thursday and will be telecast soon. Olympian PV Sindhu also shot for a special episode which will be telecast on Friday. Bachchan also posted a photo with the badminton star on Twitter and wrote how proud he felt to host her on his show.
