With a current like buzz made around the box office, it was anticipated that Kick would fetch an historic start. The film did make around 26 crores but it was nowhere close to the 36 crores that Dhoom 3 collected on its opening day. The film’s opening is spellbinding no doubt, but a lot of trade analysts were eying a record breaking opening weekend at the Box Office. The last part of the Ramadan month is being considered the core reason for Kick not being able to reach 100 crores in three days. While the film is expected to add another thunderous figure at the Box Office on Tuesday (Eid), the record of the highest collection in a day doesn’t seem unbreakable. Interestingly, the last big opener of the year was also Bhai’s Jai Ho and his Kick has surpassed its tally by a huge margin. Currently, Ek Tha Tiger is Salman Bhai’s highest earner at the Box Office with 198 crores. If all goes well, Kick can most definitely make an entry into the 200 club as no big release is in its way until Akshay Kumar’s ‘Entertainment’ which releases on August 8th.

The reports for Kick have been encouraging if not supreme. The film has earned more positive reviews than Salman Khan’s last few. The word of mouth too has been on the positive note and the collections are going to grow. The next big interesting prospect in watching is Eid when the film may storm the Box Office once again. Consider it a highly interesting irony or the magic of Salman Khan that a film which collects 84 crores in a weekend is still believed to have underperformed in some ways.
