K’Jo gets Akki and Sidharth onboard for ‘Brothers’
Having kept everybody in under the carpet for a long time, Karan Johar has finally made it official. Dharma productions in an announcement confirmed their new project titled ‘Brothers’ that stars Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra. The film will go on floors pretty soon and will release on October 2nd next year.

To be directed by Karan Malhotra of Agneepath fame, the film marks the first ever association of Akshay Kumar with Dharma. The actor even tweeted and confirmed the news. “My first association with @karanjohar. "BROTHERS" directed by Karan Malhotra with @S1dharthM @Asli_Jacqueline & Jackie Shroff. OCT 2nd 2015”, he tweeted. Brothers is the bollywood remake of the 2011 Hollywood drama ‘Warriors’ that starred Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy in the lead. The film was written, produced and directed by Gavin O'Connor. It is a sports based film with the two characters having to face each other in a wrestling ring despite being brothers. In an official announcement it was also told that Endemol and Lionsgate will be producing the project along with Dharma. While the original was a much acclaimed drama, let’s see how this one turns out. Let’s wish team Dharma all the best and hope they come out with a better product that the original.
