Kriti Sanon To Star In Vishal Bhardwaj’s Churiya

Success of Bareilly Ki Barfi has put Kriti Sanon in every director’s wish list. Recently, it was reported that she has been approached by Dinesh Vijan for his next production venture Arjun Patiala where she will share screen space with Diljit Dosanjh for the first time. And now another filmmaker who has shown his interest in Kriti is none other than Vishal Bhardwaj.

Vishal has roped in Kriti for his next film Churiya. The story of the flick will revolve around sibling rivalry where Sanon will play the role of younger sister. "The film is set in a small town of Rajasthan, where fights between two sisters can get ugly, and physically and verbally abusive. The word, Churiya can have two meanings; here it refers to girls who can be as sharp as knives. Vishal and Kriti have been meeting regularly for the past few weeks. Kriti has also started taking workshops to up her act. She has almost been finalised for the part of the younger sister,” revealed a source.

As far as elder sister is concerned, either Sonakshi Sinha or Vaani Kapoor will play the role. Vishal had approached many actresses for the role of elder sister including Parineeti Chopra , Bhumi Pednekar , Sonakshi Sinha and Shraddha Kapoor . He even did their screen tests.
