After Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag made its way to the National Award, many directors seem to be interested in making biopics on sportspersons. Apparently, filmmakers Omung Kumar and Kunal Deshmukh decided to make a film on the life of Indian boxer Mary Kom and cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, respectively. But, it seems Kunal is not satisfied with the project!

According to the reports, Ekta Kapoor bagged the rights to produce a film on controversial cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin's life. However, the venture has hit a roadblock due to creative differences between the director Kunal Deshmukh and the writer of the film, Rajat Arora. "The film requires extensive research which has been going on at a snail's pace. There have been several arguments between Rajat and Kunal that have largely remained unresolved as both have been busy with other commitments--Rajat with Kick and Kunal with Raja Natwarlal," revealed the source. "Right now I'm very busy with Raja Natwarlal and have no time for the Azharuddin biopic," said the director. When asked about the issues and differences, Kunal replied "As things stand now, no work is happening on the film, whether it's the research or the script. Once Raja Natwarlal wraps up, I will meet Ekta and take a final call."
