Lootera’s leading characters come to light finally

Let’s look backstage for a while to have a look at the characters of Lootera, Varun Shrivastav and Pakhi. Set in 1953, Varun Shrivastav, an archaeologist visits Manikpur village in West Bengal to dig up the temple grounds of the local Zamindar. With his charming personality and well-founded knowledge the Zamindar and his entire family gets impressed with the guest in their village. The attraction level is far higher for the Zamindar’s lively and only daughter Pakhi, who falls in love with him, uncontrollably. But Varun has something deep hidden inside and he is quite different from his exterior self.

While the mere attraction between Varun and Pakhi leads to deep love for each other, Varun lands in dilemma between his past and his present. Then Varun makes his own choice; he opts for his past and disappears from Pakhi’s life. Pakhi slowly tries to move on with her life and forgets her relationship with Varun. But Varun arrives once again in one of the most extraordinary circumstances. Lootera is basically a story of two lovers, inspired by O. Henry’s “The Last Leaf”. It’s all about love, heartbreak, treachery and final salvation, revolving around Varun and Pakhi. Let’s get ready to fall in love on July 5 with Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha’s Lootera.
