Lucknow Central's New Song, Kaavaan Kaavaan Is A Major Throwback To Monsoon Wedding!

The latest song of Lucknow Central is a throwback to Monsoon Wedding. Though the two films don’t have any similarities in terms of theme and crew, they have used the same folk-based song.

Kaavan Kaavan, which many would remember as the celebratory song in Meera Nair’s Monsoon Wedding, has been recreated, or rather re-mastered, by Arjunna Harjaie. The original was composed by Mychael Danna.

The new song, voiced by Divya Kumar, begins with Farhan Akhtar daydreaming about his name being chanted by a crowd. The song keeps playing in the background while Farhan Akhtar and Deepak Dobriyal keep discussing the plan of a jailbreak.

It also brings out Farhan Akhtar’s character as the leader of a group of ill-trained wannabe singers. However, the person who gives it a new dimension is Dobriyal who keeps thinking of himself as the most important member of the band.

The new version has been penned by Kumaar and serves as a cushion to the story that features a group of undertrials planning to break out of a jail with super tight security.

Directed by Ranjit Tiwari, the film bears striking similarities with Yash Raj Film’s Qaidi Band. While Qaidi Band will release on August 25, Lucknow Central will hit the screens on September 15. The film also stars Diana Penty and Ronit Roy in pivotal roles.
