Madhur chooses not to include any smoking scenes in his film

While he is known to film the most hard hitting prospects of society with realism, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar as mend his ways to deal with his next film. Director’s next film ‘Calender Girls’ that deals with the fashion industry of high rich customs will not be having any smoking scene.

A source however revealed that he had shot a lot of smoking scenes but then decided to do without them. "There is no way he can show smoking scenes in the film without the mandatory disclaimer. He had shot 10-12 sequences with actresses puffing on a cigarette before he took this decision and has done away with them," the source told. According to Madhur, the statuary warning would have only spoiled the drama so he opted to not go with any smoking scenes.

"The disclaimers take the attention away from the drama on screen and are a distraction. So, I have decided against smoking scenes," Madhur said. The film stars Suhel Seth as liquor king replicating the real life character of Vijay Mallya and even he doesn’t smoke in the film.
