Mahesh Bhatt takes blame for poor box office showing of Mr. X

Mahesh Bhatt has taken the blame for the poor box office showing of Mr. X upon himself. The ace director says he will not put the blame on the marketing strategy employed by Fox Star Studios, which was handed the responsibility of marketing the film. The movie was made with production budget of 40 crores and has only earned 27 crores at the box office so far.

“BLAME ME: It is content & content alone which is responsible for a film's failure. 'Mr. X'bombed at the box office because of my content !! I will not pass the buck of the failure of Mr X to the Fox marketing team. We at Vishesh must take things in our stride & move on", Bhatt tweeted.

The movie was produced by Vishesh Films and helmed by Vikram Bhatt. The flick featured Emraan Hashmi and Amyra Dastur in the lead roles. "I know that any director who passes on the buck when his film does not do well, is no director at all. I fail and I learn", Vikram tweeted. "It's up to the Fox marketing to take their lessons from their failures or successes", the director added.
