Margarita With A Straw impresses French audience too

Kalki Koechlin's film Margarita With A Straw was recently premiered at the Vesoul Film Festival in France recently. The film by Shonali Bose won the Audience Award and the Youth Jury Award, a jury comprised of 20 teenagers.

Talking about the achievement, the excited filmmaker says, "These are by far my two favorite awards to date as I make films for audiences and not critics or festivals. And to get a unanimous vote from 20 teenagers - that too French - even my hard to impress teenage son Vivan was impressed!!"

The critically acclaimed film was previously been screened at the 19th Busan International Film Festival, the 39th Toronto International Film Festival, 2014, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (TBNFF) in Estonia and the Cannes Film Festival amongst others. The movie which revolves around the life of a girl with cerebral palsy named Laila, has received global recognition and is expected to release in India on April 17.
