    Mary Kom wins best film at Stockholm International Film Festival Junior, Priyanka ecstatic

    The jury of kids at the Stockholm International Film Festival Junior in Sweden adjudged Omung Kumar directed Mary Kom as the best film. The film festival had a jury of kids in the age range of 9 to 17. The biopic based on the life of ace Indian boxer, Mary Kom had released in India last year to a wide appreciation.

    Talking about the film winning the honour, directed Omung Kumar said, "'Mary Kom' was selected for the Stockholm International Film Festival Junior in Sweden, and we have won the best film award and been given the Bronze Horse award, the highest honour in this festival. The jury was made up of kids ranging from the age of nine to 17 years."


    The filmmaker acknowledged the award as a ‘very big thing’ for them and considered it a major boost in Indo-Sweden ties. "This award is a very big thing for us because now it will bridge the gap between Sweden and India. We can now distribute our films over here. Mary Kom will again be showcased in Sweden by the Indian Embassy at the Indian Film Festival next month," he added. Priyanka Chopra too expressed her excitement on the win and shared it on twitter.
