Midweek B.O. – Ungli drops further, all eyes on Action Jackson

The box office stigma that seems to have stuck for quite a while now continues to blemish the business. While no film has been able to perform well in the last four weeks, the new release Ungli couldn’t break the trend either.

After having collected an average 13 crores in its opening weekend, the Emran Hashmi led multi starrer dropped dramatically on Monday and Tuesday. The film collected a low 1.80 crores on Monday and a similar figure on Tuesday. The trends indicate a short stay for the film at the counters and may end at somewhere under 25 crores. The erotic thriller Zid continued its good march at the B and C centres and earned around 12 crores. The film will end up with some profits but that is all thanks to the adult substance put in the subject.

All eyes will now be on Ajay Devgn’s Action Jackson that releases this Friday. The film is a trademark Prabhudeva mass entertainer and is expected to open big. While Ajay does hold a credible fan following all over, the added mass appeal may give a much required push to the box office. Let’s see what happens.
