Mira Rajput Explains Her Comment On Motherhood

A couple of months back, at an event, Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput made a comment on working mothers that did not do well with the public. She received a lot of flak for saying that she would not want to spend one hour a day with her child and then rush to work. While her intention was good, it wasn’t received that way.

When a leading daily asked Mira about her comment and the negative response that she got for it, she explained, “I was just speaking my mind, my intention was not to offend or hurt anyone. Could I have chosen my words better? Maybe. But I am not a seasoned actor and I don't know how to be politically correct. I was speaking for a section of women who aren't given their due”. She went on to talk about her mom and how she raised her while balancing a job. “My mom balanced her career and motherhood. There was never a time when I felt that she was not around. That's the essence of what I was trying to say”, she added.

Mira had a tough time handling all the hate coming her way but Shahid was by her side through it all. He told her that it’s okay, things like this happen sometimes. She added that looking at the positive side of things is what she believes in.
