    Namit Das to Play Lead Role in Indian Adaptation of ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’

    After a number of speculations, the Wake Up Sid fame Namit Das has been finalized to play the lead role in the Indian remake of the popular American sitcom ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’. The sitcom is titled ‘Sumit Sambhal Lega’ in Hindi and Das will be playing Sumit. Earlier, actors such as Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade, Ronit Roy were also considered for the role but Namit has been finalized, recently.

    The Lafangey Parindey actor said in a statement, “A wife who seems to win all arguments, an overprotective mother - I have lived this and more. Now, are you ready to see what I go through every day? Welcome to the Desi Raymond – Sumit Sambhal Lega”.

    Namit will be playing the role of a married man who is stuck in the family situations, giving rise to a comical extravaganza. Reportedly, the American series was based on the real life incidents of producers as well as writing team of the show. Also, it is said that the characters are roughly based on producers’ family members.  The show will be telecasted on Star Plus, which has recent claimed the rights of the show.
