Nawazuddin Siddiqui Overwhelmed by Manjhi: The Mountain Man’s Response

Based on the true story of Dashrath Manjhi, the poor farmer, who carved a path through a mountain in the memory of his wife, using just a chisel and a hammer, Manjhi - The Mountain Man, is not only winning the hearts of the audiences but also the critics. Apart from several celebrities such as Salman Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s performance in the film has been praised by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal as well. The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor says that he is “overwhelmed” by the response that the film has received.

“I am overwhelmed and this gives me confidence in doing good work going forward”, Nawaz said in a statement. Directed by Ketan Mehta, the biopic also stars Radhika Apte Phaguniya (Dashrath’s wife).

While the film is receiving positive critical acclaim, it has failed to climb high at the box office. Perhaps, the online leak of the film a few weeks before its release has affected the biopic’s box office score. But Nawaz, anyway, has stood out as a shining star, once again.
