    Veteran Bollywood actor Om Puri is presently featuring on the wanted list of Mumbai police after a complaint against him has been lodged by his second wife Nandita. The actor has been accused of inflicting violence on his wife as he hit her with a stick after an argument at their Versova flat last week, as per the complaint.

    Puri has been booked under IPC sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of the peace).Thesenior police inspector of Versova police station Harishchandra Parmale said, "Om Puri is absconding at present. We will arrest him as soon as we trace him."After Puri’s first wife Seema Kapoor got in touch with him once again, his married life with Nandita started having trying times.He even moved out of the Versova flat to live with Kapoor in Oshiwara, though Om and Nandita are not yet legally separated.

    Earlier Nandita filed a lawsuit against the actor in a family court, under the Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act, demanding maintenance. The police said Nandita was upset as Om didn’t even appear in the court during the hearings. According to Nandita, "He wants me to leave the house and shift to Kolkata. He has not been paying proper maintenance and has been avoiding court hearings."But a denial came from Puri’s end on the same,"My lawyer told me that I need not be present in court. She has been alleging that I don't pay her maintenance, which is a complete lie. I have proof of every payment I made to her and it is nothing less than Rs 60 lakh. She wanted most of my property, which I was ready to give because I want peace."He added,"She is a compulsive liar. I have never been involved in any kind of violence. Earlier, she accused me of trying to kidnap her son. Her allegation proved to be a lie.” He also alleged that Nandita devastated his life by writing his biography Unlikely Hero: The Story Of Om Puri but as Nandita said, "After my book, he got a Spielberg film."
