Pallavi Sharda bags female lead’s role opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Besharam

While much has been said about the lead actor and supporting cast of Abhinav Kashyap's ambitious filmBesharam, now the name of the leading lady has been revealed and it is Pallavi Sharda, who did a cameo in Karan Johar'sMy Name Is Khan. It is like a dream come true for Pallavi to work as lady love of Ranbir Kapoor.

An excited Pallavi said, "I was barely there inMy Name Is Khan. I had a more substantial role in Sahil Sangha'sLove Breakups Zindagiand now the lead inBesharam. Like any other job, I've worked my way up as an actress, and all on my own." She added, "My parents are both IIT students. I too am an LLB graduate. They migrated to Australia in the 1980s and became lecturers. Bharat Natyam and Bollywood were part of my growing-up years."

The newcomer stays alone in Mumbai due to her filmi dreams. "I've been brought up to be extremely self-dependent. I left Australia and my parents to be in Mumbai at the age of 18. I don't have any family in Mumbai. I stay alone in a rented place in Mumbai. It was tough making my way around. But I've never had the feeling that I am alone or vulnerable," she added.
