PeeCee, Deepika gear up to perform Lavni in Bajirao Mastani

Proficient director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is trying to recreate the magic of the remarkable song “Dola re” from the movie “Devdas” with some Lavni touch in his upcoming magnum opus Bajirao Mastani. But this time, he is ready to top it up with two of the versatile actresses of Bollywood – Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone. Remo D’Souza has been roped in to choreograph the song.

Both the beauties are busy rehearsing with more than 50 background dancers for over 10 days as the song has to be shot over a period of 12 days on a larger-than-life set. The skilled choreographer elaborated the song by saying, “Though it is essentially a lavani number, it would not be wrong to call it a mix of folk and classical dance as well. It is never easy to work with SLB as he wants nothing short of perfection. Also, with the costumes, it is never easy to choreograph or perform for the actresses. This one has two actresses so it will require absolute perfection and synchronization”.

Being Sanjay’s second time to team up with the Bollywood divas, he looks really excited. He said, “After 12 years, since 'Devdas', audiences will see two contemporary actresses dance together in the same frame. It is a lavni composed folk song and a lot of work has gone into the sets and the picturization of the song. Both Priyanka and Deepika have worked extremely hard on the song and rehearsed long hours for it”.
