I Took The Opportunity To Break The Ceiling For Actors That Look Like Me: Priyanka Chopra On Working In The US

Actress Priyanka Chopra has made a mark in Hollywood with her marvellous acting skills. The actress said that she was once asked not to join a venture because of her ethnic looks. However, she thinks that it is an advantage for her and others like her when she got the opportunity to work in the US.

The 35-year-old actress said, “When the opportunity came my way, I saw it as an opportunity to break the ceiling for actors that look like me... Once I was asked not to be a part of a cast because I was too ethnic... I didn't realize how hard it was until I came to North America”. She further revealed that her role in 'Quantico' was not written for an Indian girl.

Further, Priyanka expressed that it’s not easy for a woman to work in the entertainment industry as there are situations where people get involved in fights. The Baywatch actress said, “No one's going to hand it out to you, whether it's credit, whether it's parts, whether it is the ability to make movies”.  At the work front, Priyanka Chopra's Sikkimese production, 'Pahuna’ was recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
