Priyanka Chopra’s assistant’s dead body suffers from fund-crisis in LA

The 41-year-old assistant of Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra, Jiban Patra was found dead in his Beverly Hills hotel room in Los Angeles and it has been more than a week now that his body is still decaying slowly at the foreign mortuary. Jiban was one of the assistants of Priyanka who accompanied her to the country and was supposed to assist her to Vancouver but he had to stay back as he could not acquire a Canadian visa. Unfortunately he fell to death all alone in the hotel on April 7. The Los Angeles Police Department kicked off a quick investigation into the sudden mishap and registered it as a case of unnatural death. Though preliminary investigations revealed the middle aged man died of heart attack.

The police department cleared the path to transport the body to his native country but the biggest hurdle in the process is the huge cost of transportation, an estimated sum of $15,000. As reported by sources, nobody has come forward to bear the cost yet. A source from US informed, "Jiban has two kids and a wife back in Mumbai and they have been in constant touch with Priyanka Chopra's office to arrange for his body to be brought back home. But nothing has worked out so far. The death was also hush-hush till the Indian community took it up strongly and put pressure on Priyanka to arrange for Jiban's passage to India. It is a tragic case as he is the only earning member of the family and lost his father to heart attack last year." Though Priyanka has been unavailable for comment, her manager is soliciting with the Indian embassy to come to a solution as soon as possible, according to sources.

The website of the Orissa Society of the Americans appeals, "...We are requesting Priyanka Chopra's team to take the responsibility to send the body to Orissa. The family at India was helpless and no one speaks English/Hindi. We are in contact with PC's team and also the LA-Coroner police department and updating the family. After Jiban's death his family is devastated and will face an immediate financial disaster. There is no one there to help them..."
