Raanjhanaa collects a huge Rs. 21 crore in its opening weekend

Though Tamil actor Dhanush and Bollywood diva Sonam Kapoor’s maiden movie outing Raanjhanaa received mixed response on its opening day, as per the box-office collections it has performed great so far. Business has been done of a whopping Rs. 21 crore in the first three days, after getting a dull start on June 21.

The figures were also shared by Dhanush via Twitter. The Sourthern actor posted, “RAANJHANAA weekend collections Fri 5.75cr,Sat 6.40cr,Sun 9.10cr.Total:21.25 cr.des numbers prove dat people like d film n dat makes us happy.” Earlier on Saturday it was observed by film critic Taran Adarsh that Raanjhanaa was raising from 'strength to strength with each show, after an ordinary start.'

The huge jump resulted from Dhanush’s acting, chiefly. Taran tweeted on Sunday, “#Raanjhanaa witnesses super jump in India. Fri Rs 5.15 cr, Sat Rs 6.25 cr+. Excellent!” Dhanush has overwhelmed his audiences with his performance as a UP Brahmin youth and Abhishek Bachchan also sent his congratulations for Raanjhanaa team. A grand release is also expected for the Tamil version of the film down South. As predicted by Taran, “Enthused by the super start of #Raanjhanaa, Eros to release its Tamil version #Ambikapathy in 200 screens across Tamil Nadu next Friday.”
