It seems it’s going to be a lot of fun as the films releasing today are both comedy oriented. Go Goa Gone produced by Saif Ali Khan along with the co-producers Dinesh Vijan and Sunil Lulla, is a zombie comedy directed by filmmaker Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., while Gippi is Karan Johar Dharma Productions’ initiative to bring to light the teen talent. This teenage drama is the directorial debut by Sonam Nair.

Gippi is a story of a 14 year old girl (Gurpreet Kaur) Gippi, who is embarrassed for being overweight and tries to deal with queen bee Shamira at the school. She ensures that the school journey is packed with delicious desserts, funny teachers, Shammi Kapoor dances and school crushes. The girl in Gippi is played by a Delhi based Riya Vij. With Gippi, Dharma Productions for the first time will be introducing a woman director. Divya Dutta, one of the lead actresses of the flick says about the film, "Everyone will feel that we have gone through this. So, when you relate with any film or any promo, you definitely want to watch that film. And Gippi is one of those films and I think it will make its own mark beautifully." The film's producer admired the young director and commented, "Talent does not have a gender at all and it should not have a gender. Sonam Nair is a very talented young girl. It does not matter that she is a girl, she is very talented director."

Go Goa Gone, the first zombie comedy, on the other hand stars Kunal Khemu as Hardik, Vir Das plays Luv, Anand Tiwari portrays Bunny, Puja Gupta acts Luna and Boris is played by Saif Ali Khan. The story revolves around three friends Kunal, Vir and Anand, who go for a trip to Goa and there they meet Luna (Puja Gupta). Luna is a fun loving girl who calls them for a rave party organized by Boris and on the island they get confronted by zombies. The directors have focused on the 'Say no to drugs' message through this flick. They narrate about the movie, "As the name suggests, the film is related to Goa but nothing derogatory. The people in Mumbai and elsewhere have a perception about Goa that it is a place where people go to sit, relax, party, chill, but all in good sense. What happens there is our version of the story," the duo told PTI. "But there is a message at the end of the film - Say no to drugs. If you do drugs then you will turn into a zombie," they further added.
