Raja Natwarlal - To Watch or Not to Watch
Raja Natwarlal is the story of a con artist called Raja (Emraan Hashmi), who aspires to con Vardha (Kay Kay Menon) to avenge the death of Raju (Deepak Tijori), who is Raja's good friend and a partner in crime in conning people. To do so, Raja takes the help of Yogi (Paresh Rawal). The story that follows makes the plot of a typical con movie.

Emraan Hashmi - more than just a serial kisser!
Emraan Hashmi has always been a decent actor. His performances in movies like Shanghai, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai and Dirty Picture have proved that and his performance in Raja Natwarlal doesn't dissapoint either. More than lip locking, Emraan has delivered scenes that hold the power to keep you interested in the movie. Paresh Rawal and Kay Kay Menon have performed well too!

Snore Fest!
The USP of con movies is that they usually have a very interesting plot twist that leaves your mouth open. Raja Natwarlal doesn't quite make that cut. There are abrupt songs that interfere with the flow of the script. Rather than that of adventure, the movie has a feel of romance and revolves more around the characters than concentrating on the plot twist.

Hello Cape Town! Hello Mumbai! Bye-Bye Logic!
How all the characters shuttled between Cape Town and Mumbai so quickly was incomprehensible and confusing. Many times a lot of things seemed to make no sense at all in the movie. Why did the Police force consist of only 2 officers on a such a high profile case? Where was the rest of the force? Some scenes cut into other scenes bluntly with a hint of discontinuity.

Did I just hear you say Namak Paray?
The songs of this movie have fared rather badly. However the Namak Parey song took bad to a whole new level. I could not believe what I heard. No words could express my horror at hearing it. Maybe if they came out with a remix version, I could hear it over high-tea with my friends to fill in for ridiculousness.
Final Verdict
This movie might do well in single halls because of Emraan Hashmi's charm and the strong screen presence of the rest of the cast. Out of 5 stars, Raja Natwarlal deserves a 2. Feel free to skip this one.
