Actor Rajeev Khandelwal made his Bollywood debut in 2008 with the film Aamir. In his big screen career of seven years, he has only played serious and grey characters. Now he says he wants to do romantic roles.

“I want to do a romantic film or a TV show because I have kept myself away from romance for a while now. Though I want to do romantic roles, it has to be my kind of romance. I want to be associated with a film that has soul-stirring romance,” says Rajeev, who is currently seen playing a journalist in a TV show.

However, the actor says that he doesn’t have any directors in mind, who he wants to work with. “I don’t have any wishlist. I have done most of my films with debutants (with Bejoy Nambiar in Shaitan, and with Neerav Ghosh in Soundtrack; both in 2011). These guys gave me a lot of confidence. I prefer working with young and energetic film-makers,” says the 39-year-old actor.

Rajeev, who will next be seen opposite actor-model Gauahar Khan in a film helmed by a new director, Rajeev Jhaveri, says, “After working with new directors, I know how passionate they are about what they are doing. I would love to work with the veterans also.”
