Bollywood seems to be fascinated by biopics so much that films like ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’, ‘Azhar’ and ‘Dangal’ are lined up for release this year. Taking a step forward, filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is all set to take a second dive with another biopic. The director had earlier presented the character of Flying Sikh Milkha Singh on the big screen perfectly.

According to reports, the director will be making a biographical film on Jaswant Singh Rawat, a 22-year-old rifleman, who was martyred in the 1962 Indo-China war. The flick is expected to go on floors in September this year. The team of the film is in a state of dilemma, and is wondering whether to cast a new face or an established actor for the lead role.

A source close to the film’s unit revealed that Jaswant's brother has agreed to share the details of the martyr’s life. Reportedly, his mother, who was also assisting the team with the research work, recently breathed her last. The Indo-China war began on November 17, 1962, and continued for the following 72 hours. Jaswant Singh held the post along with two other soldiers and kept firing from different bunkers. They managed to kill more than 300 Chinese soldiers but eventually their army managed to capture a heavily wounded Jaswant Singh and hung him.
