Seems like, Raveena Tandon-starrer Maatr is in trouble after the flick faces problems over cuts in the film. The last we heard about Maatr certification row was that Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is not comfortable with the use of expletives in the film. At a recent event, the actress spoke about it at length, saying that change in laws is the need of the hour.

She said, “I think more than the scenes, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has a problem with the language that has been used in the film. I do not understand why… as we attempted to show a mirror to the society. Having said that, I understand that the CBFC is also bound by laws that go back to the 1970s. We have gone ahead, but they are still following the same law. Perhaps, there comes the problem. There is a need for law amendment”.

She added that despite getting an ‘A’ certification, the film is going through so many cuts. Helmed by Ashtar Sayed, the 90’s Bollywood siren will make her comeback to acting on the silver screens. Raveen plays the mother of a rape victim. All set to release on April 21, the flick deals with rape and violence against women in the Indian society.
