‘Reel bong’ Vidya Balan roped in for ‘iconic bong’ Suchitra Sen’s biopic

Legendary Bengali actress Suchitra Sen had always impressed the audiences with her good looks and elegance. The yesteryear actress was considered as one of the most talented and graceful actresses of Indian cinema and now reprising her real life role on-screen will be another talented lady Vidya Balan.

Well, this is not the first time when Vidya will be seen in a Bengali avatar, the gorgeous diva had played the role of a Bengali woman onscreen so convincingly in Parineeta, that audiences actually mistook her for a Bengali. However, unlike her previous attempts of playing a bong beauty on the screens, Vidya Balan is required to learn classical dance for her forthcoming film. A source close to the unit says, “Since it’s a biopic, she (Balan) wants her portrayal to be authentic. After the makers informed her that she will have Kathak dance sequences in the film, she asked them to arrange for a teacher."

Well, we all are aware of Vidya Balan’s strong connection with Bengal. She has admitted to "feeling Bengali" and speaks the language fluently with her half Bengali husband Siddharth Roy Kapoor. Hence, we are sure that Vidya will pull off an amazing role in this biopic. But who will be her Uttam Kumar, we wonder.
