Ritesh Sidhwani Put To Rest Rumours About Making A Biopic On Kapil Dev and Bishan Singh Bedi

A few days ago, rumours started flashing that filmmaker Ritesh Sidhwani is producing a biopic on former cricketers Kapil Dev and Bishan Singh Bedi. However, during the trailer launch his next movie ‘Fukrey 2’, he refuted all the rumours surrounding the biopic. He said that they are currently thinking of ‘Fukrey 2’ and not about anything else.

The teaser launch of ‘Fukrey 2’ was attended by Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Snigh and Richa Chadha, including director Mrigdeep Lamba. On asked why there is a long gap between the first part and the sequel, Mrigdeep said that they wanted the sequel to be better than ‘Fukrey’. ‘Fukrey’ released in 2013 and went on to become a sleeper hit.

“We took three years because audience should like it. If we would have made sequel just for the sake of it, then audience would have criticised us. We took enough time to make it and we made sure that it’s better than the first,” said Mrigdeep. Apart from the above actors, ‘Fukrey 2’ also stars Ali Fazal, Vishakha Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, Priya Anand in lead roles. Produced by Excel Entertainment, the comedy entertainer is set to release on December 8.
