Saif Ali Khan to return Padma Award?

As the report on the alleged scuffle involving Bollywood celebrity and Padma Shri awardee Saif Ali Khan in a restaurant is still pending, the Union Home Ministry has ordered the Mumbai Police to speed up the proceedings. "As regard to Saif Ali Khan, no response to this Ministry's letter No 1/3112014-Public dated August 20, 2014, has been received from Mumbai Police. Mumbai Police has been reminded to expedite the matter," the Ministry confirmed.

In 2012, Saif had reportedly beaten up a South-African NRI businessman, Iqbal Sharma after he objected to their noisy conversation in Taj Mahal Palace Hotel's, Wasabi restaurant. According to the report, Saif not only punched him on the nose but also abused his father when he tried to intervene. Saif was taken into the police custody but was later released on bail. Following which, an activist had demanded that the actor should be stripped of the Padma Award given to him in 2010.
