Sajid Khan bats for Anushka, shuns opinions playing blame games

‘Sajid Khan and sense,’ the two words don’t go hand in hand so easily. The last thing you expect out of the ‘Humshakals’ director is defying logic. But, to all surprises, he has been making a lot of thinkable points lately. Ever since he took his thoughts and opinions to writing a column for DNA, the uncanny filmmaker appears to have transformed.

In his second column, he shared his opinion on the recent Indian defeat at the ICC Cricket World Cup, shunning everyone down who blamed Anushka Sharma in any which way. Beginning his write up by considering ‘we Indians’ as emotional fools, Sajid wrote “Well, we all know how badly India lost to Australia in the semi-finals of this year's World Cup. Australia... the World Champions of 2015. We lost to Australia. Australia in Australia. And in what? In a game of cricket where two teams play - one has to win and the other has to lose. So my question of this week to all the weak-minded people is: How can Anushka Sharma be blamed for anything at all”?

Citing examples of great sportsmen like David Bekham and Andre Agassi, the filmmaker wrote how partners of these legends were never blamed for anything at all while they performed poorly. He went ahead and appealed everyone to stop blaming the NH10 actress, while also complimenting her on her recent performance. “Moving back to all the disgruntled Indian cricket fans, please stop blaming Anushka for Virat Kohli's dismal performance. If you want to blame her for anything, blame her for the excessive violence in NH10 (which I thoroughly enjoyed)”, he added.
