Salman Khan’s Hit-and-run Case: SC Rejects Plea for Bail Cancellation

The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition, which sought cancellation of Salman Khan’s bail in the Hit-and-run case. The plea was rejected by Chief Justice H.L. Dattu on Monday. The plea was signed by one of the victims of the case.

The petition was filed by advocate M.L. Sharma on behalf of late constable Ravindra Patil’s mother. The petitioner has challenged the Bombay High Court’s order of granting bail to the Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The High court granted bail to the Kick star on the same date he was convicted.

On May 6, the Dabangg star was found guilty of 2002 hit-and-run case and was sentenced to 5-year imprisonment. The Bodyguard actor was charged with ‘culpable homicide not amounting to murder’. 1 person was killed while 4 others were injured after Salman’s car ran over the pavement, where they were sleeping.
