    Salman Khan’s hit-and-run trial: Activist Abha Singh considered by court to intervene at final stage only

    On Tuesday three petitions in the 2002 hit and run case, involving Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, were heard by a sessions court. Activist Abha Singh’s plea to assist the prosecution in the trial was rejected by the court, giving an approval that the activist can intervene at the final argumentative stage only.

    Salman filed an application against the media over the unfair reports of the case. The court verbally ordered that the media should report the case in a fairer manner in future. Activist Santosh Daundkar's plea to transfer the false evidence case from Bandra to the sessions court was also heard and the court concluded that it doesn’t has the authority to transfer the case. In September 2002 Khan allegedly crashed his Toyota Land Cruiser in suburban Bandra killing one and injuring four others who were sleeping on the pavement outside a bakery. He is under trial for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
