Sanjay Gupta has plans to reunite Big B, Sanju and team in Kaante sequel

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta who directed the stylishly successful Kaante back in 2002 has plans to put a sequel on the floor. The heist film that had Big B, Sanjay Dutt, Mahesh Manjrekar, Kumar Gaurav, Sunil Shetty and Lucky Ali in the lead was quite a popular film then. Interestingly, Sanjay Gupta wants to direct the sequel only after Sanjay comes out of the jail.

“We have a fantastic script, Since, in the first movie, all three had died by the end, you will have to suspend your disbelief when you watch the sequel. We are starting the film saying, ‘What if they were alive? If they hadn’t died and met 15-20 years later, what would happen?’ For Kaante fans, this film will be a treat”, Gupta said. He told that both Sanjay Dutt and him are exchanging ideas and the actor is writing to him from jail. “Yes, he knows about it. We are working on the script together. We have discussed it in detail. Even before he went in, we were working on it,” he added.

Sanjay also added that he hasn’t had the chance to discuss with Amitabh Bachchan but does plan to narrate him the script soon. "And once Sanju is out for good, and whenever he is ready to work on the script, I am there. I have discussed it at length with Mahesh too. I haven’t had the opportunity to discuss it with Amitji yet. Whenever I get that chance, I will do it. Sanju told me he has spoken to Amitji about it," he added.
