Sequel of ‘NH10’ on the cards?

If rumours are to be believed, actress-turned producer Anushka Sharma is all set to make a sequel to her critically acclaimed drama thriller NH10. Directed by Navdeep Singh, the film released on March 13 and managed to earn good reviews by audiences as well as critics. Starring Anushka Sharma and Neil Bhoopalam in lead roles, the film was based on the theme of honour killing.

Madhu Mantena of Phantom Films, who co-produced the film, confirmed to DNA, "We are pleased with the response that this film (NH10) has generated and are ready to take it forwards. The tentative title is NH12 and it is the second in a series of road films that Phantom intends to make in the next few years".

 The film, which is touted to be inspired from British thriller Eden Lake, revolves around a young couple whose road trip goes awry after an encounter with criminals.

 "The idea is to make a franchise out of road films, a genre that's under-utilised in Bollywood, but one that has a lot of potential. NH12 will explore another dark theme", Mantena added.
