Shah Rukh Khan To Be Conferred With 2nd Doctorate

The King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan is all set to receive another honorary doctorate degree. This time, SRK will be honoured by University of Edinburgh, where he is supposed to deliver a lecture on October 15. Last year, the superstar who has done about 80 films in the industry as of now, had received an honorary doctorate degree in arts and culture from Britain’s University of Bedfordshire.

Previously, former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was also honoured with degree of doctor of science by the university. University of Edinburgh is the sixth oldest university of the English speaking world and is considered to be most hallowed schools of learning in Britain. The university boasts alumini such as inventor Graham Bell, philosopher David Hume, Charles Darwin, Robert Louis Stevenson, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sir Walter Scott and physicist James Clerk Maxwell.

Other doctorate holders from Bollywood include Amitabh Bachchan who has honorary doctorates conferred on him at Leicester in UK, De Montfort University, Universities of Delhi, University of Jhansi and at Queensland in Australia. Music composer A.R. Rahman and veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar have also been conferred multi-honorary doctorates. Singh is Bliing actor Akshay Kumar has also been conferred PhD degree at Canada Assumption University in Ontario.
