SRK Reveals Why 90's Actresses Are Not Offered Lead Roles Anymore

There were times when actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla and Kajol used to rule the silver screen with their talent. However, gone are the days when the actresses were getting lead roles in commercial movies. Now, the actresses are only doing cameos or roles of aged women.

This is not the case with actors. The actors who used to rule the Bollywood industries back in 90's are much more popular now and are successfully doing commercial films with younger leading ladies. At a recent interview, Shah Rukh Khan touched upon this thing and gave his take on it.

He said, “Madhuri, Juhi and Kajol are such beautiful women and wonderful actors. I’m a star because of them; they’ve taught me all that I know. Whenever I can, I try to get them to act in my movies. But we have to realise that this is a business at the end of the day, however much you may think it’s a creative field. It pays the bills. It’s a dichotomy in many ways".

He also added that a majority of the audience wants to see younger people and filmmakers do what the public wants.
