Shah Rukh Khan's Next To Be A Remake Of Hit Tamil Film

After Shubh Mangal Saavdhan yet another Tamil superhit is on its way to be remade in Hindi. News is Vikram Vedha is going to be remade in Hindi and in all likelihood it will star the Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan.

According to a report in Bollywoodlife, Shah Rukh Khan has bagged the remake rights of the movie where he will play one of the leads. It is not clear which role he will essay -- the no nonsense cop played by R Madhavan or the story telling villain, played by Vijay Sethupathi.

The report further says that Shah Rukh will begin work on the film after he finishes his commitments with Anand L Rai’s film where he is playing a dwarf.

The makers of Vikram Vedha, however, have denied any such deal.

They tweeted to say: “We have not sold the remake rights of Vikram Vedha in any language. We have plans of producing it ourselves. Official announcement soon. Tx”

Shah Rukh Khan’s luck with the box office has run into rough weather of late. He hasn’t had a big hit for a while. While Fan and Imtiaz Ali’s Jab Harry Met Sejal bombed at the box office, Dear Zindagi and Raees just about managed to scrap through.

Vikram Vedha, however, did good business. The film, which released on July 21, collected Rs 50 crore by August, an IANS report said. This, despite the fact, that Tamil Nadu film industry has been reeling under the shock of the 30% entertainment tax levied by the Tamil Nadu government in addition to 28% GST.
