Mumbai Cricket Association has lifted the 5-year ban on Shah Rukh Khan from entering the Wankhede Stadium. The ban was imposed on the Raees star after his heated argument with security guards of the stadium and MCA officials, following a match between Kolkata Night Riders and Mumbai Indians. The Happy New Year star, then, said that he was provoked by the security guards who touched the group of kids accompanying him, which also included his daughter.

The decision to lift the ban was taken at the recent MCA’s managing committee meeting. MCA’s vice-president Ashish Shelar said in a statement, “In the MCA meeting, it was decided that the ban imposed on IPL's Kolkata franchise owner Shah Rukh Khan should be lifted. With the prior approval of our President Sharad Pawar, it was proposed by me that the ban on him be lifted and the managing committee approved it unanimously. Therefore, the ban on his entry in the Wankhede Stadium has been revoked”.

“Action had been taken against him when required and we felt it was not good to take it any further. The whole managing committee consented on it. We felt it would not look good to bar somebody like this”, Shelar added.
