Shahid Kapoor’s Farzi not shelved, confirm makers

The directing duo of Raj and DK have quashed all rumours about their next film starring Shahid Kapoor being shelved. The film titled ‘Farzi’ that has been in the news for a while was speculated to be shelved after the producers lost faith in the makers post Happy Ending debacle. However, both Raj and DK have come out strongly to turn down these reports.

“I am wondering where is the so-called news, which is nothing but plain speculation, coming from. It is as random as it gets. The film is certainly on and we are in pre-production,” Raj said. DK added about how they took a small break after Happy Ending and the gap was pretty usual. “We did take a small break before starting on preparation. Even after we lock the final script, we usually take two to three months aside just for the preparation. It isn't any different for Farzi," he said. Talking about the kind of film Farzi is, Raj told, “And since we are on it, let us dispel another myth around the film. No, it isn't about internet hacking, as is another rumor making the rounds. The film is very contemporary and is set in today's time and scenario. Also, it is not a remake of any film, it is truly original. The film has a very big canvas to it and also has a slight action and satirical humour.”

The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddique while Kriti Sanon comes in as the female lead. Earlier confirmed by Shahid himself, the film is all set to go on the floors early next year. Raj and DK who have fairly had good record with Shor in the City, Go Goa Gone went through a big failure in their last outing Happy Ending starring Saif Ali Khan.
