Ranveer Singh To Star In Singh is Kinng Sequel?

Akshay Kumar ’s 2008 film Singh Is Kinng which starred him opposite Katrina Kaif was a blockbuster hit. A few days ago filmmaker Shailendra Singh announced of making its sequel which excited all the fans. However, people went into tizzy when it was announced that Ranveer Singh would replace Akshay in the sequel.

Shailendra even told a tabloid, “While we had initially wanted the title Singh Is Kinng, Vipul Shah refused to part with it. I have been asking him to return it to me for the last five years. Then, I decided to pick another name, because, the name Singh Is Bliing had also been explored. So, a similar sounding title would cause confusion.”

Rumours were doing rounds that Ranveer Singh’s Sher Singh might be a sequel to Singh Is Kinng. Now sources have revealed that the movie is not a sequel to the 2008 film. The sources have said that the sequel can only be made by Vipul Shah and UTV as they have the rights to the flick. If Ranveer agrees to the movie, he will essay the role of a Sardar for the first time. On the work front, Ranveer will next be seen in Padmavati. After Padmavati, he will start shooting for Zoya Akhtar ’s Gully Boy with Alia Bhatt . He also has Kabir Khan ’s biopic on Kapil Dev which is tentatively titled # 83 .
