Special Screening Of 'Pink' For President Sir Was A Dream Come True For Shoojit Sircar

President Pranab Mukherjee, who has seen selected movies during his tenure at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, particularly expressed his desire to watch Shoojit Sircar's 'Pink' long time back. However, Shoojit's was immediately informed but the screening got a little postponed because the entire team of the film wanted to attend the screening. The film was finally screened this Saturday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The director of the film, Shoojit took pride and expressed, "It was an absolute honour for us to screen the film for the president. Normally, the whole team doesn't go for screenings, but we all wanted to attend this screening at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. It took us some time to figure out a date." He added, "It was absolutely surreal. I am from a background where I had no connect with any form of art, and then one day I am in the Rashtrapati Bhavan, showing my film to the president of India! It is still sinking in, even though it was my second visit there. He also invited us to visit the Mughal Gardens and the museum."

The screening was attended by Shoojit, actors Amitabh Bachchan, Tapsee Pannu, Andrea Tariang and Dhritiman Chatterjee, and director Aniruddha Roy Chaudhary. However, our president sir was contented after watching the film; he lauded the film and thinks that it is a curtain raiser. The president sang praises of Bachchan and said, "Mr Bachchan, you never stop surprising me."
