According to reports a constable was appointed outside Kapoor’s house so that he would be arrested as soon as he returns home but the filmmaker got a hint of the same. Accompanied by his legal counsel Kapoor himself went to the police station and sooner after he got arrested. He also faced the Andheri court immediately. An officer from Versova police station said, "We asked for police custody, but the court sent him to a 14-day judicial custody.” Later his bail application was also granted by the court for a bond of Rs. 10,000. ACP Milind Bharambe confirmed the development, "Subhash Kapoor was arrested yesterday and the court has granted him bail,” adding that nothing was in his hands as it was the “court’s decision.”

A letter has been sent to the Commissioner of Police, Rakesh Maria, by National Commission of Women, asking why the major three charges against the filmmaker were dropped while retaining only the bailable offence. In February the controversy emerged when Geetika, a struggling actress, posted a video online displaying Kapoor sexually abusing her during a confrontation in presence of the director’s wife, Dimple Kharbanda, and another popular director, Atul Sabharwal, who is also Tyagi’s boyfriend. Kapoor’s wife is quite disturbed with the incident which, according to her, has tarnished their public image, and she is more focussed to protect her son from these legal affairs and public outrage. On Monday, after Kapoor’s arrest, Geetika said, "I'm relieved that he's been finally arrested. But had I known about the arrest, my lawyer would have opposed his bail application. But I'm sure he will be convicted after the trial."
