Sultan Trailer Virtually Guarantees A Blockbuster This Eid

“Maine Pehelwani Zaroor Chhori Hai Par Ladna Nahi Bhula”! We can picture Salman Khan fans going berserk with whistles and clapping as he delivers this dialogue on the big screen. You watch the trailer of Sultan and deep down inside your heart you know a blockbuster’s on its way (even if you don’t want it).

Packed with romance, drama, emotions and so much of action, the trailer of this Ali Abbas Zafar directorial speaks loud and clear how a sports based drama is like. Despite walking over all clichés of sports biopic, Sultan trailer promises some real entertainment and then some.

In a three minute long trailer of this wrestling based drama, this is what we could gather! Sultan Ali Khan is a wrestler who wants to represent India at the Olympics. Going with the support of her love Aarfa played by Anushka Sharma, while he does win the gold and world championship, a personal tragedy changes his life. A tragedy that he blames his wrestling for! However, 8 years later he makes a comeback to the ring to regain his lost glory after being down and out attributing to his age and his incompetence to fight at the highest level. Training under Randeep Hooda his coach, how Sultan beats the odds against his favour is what the film dramatises later.

There are enough moments evidently visible in the trailer that puts upfront the mainstream handling of the narrative, but what’s a Salman Khan movie without all this, right?

Speaking totally in a Haryanvi accent both Salman and Anushka, you can expect some performances going under the hammer. Having said that, their effort is clap worthy. How Sultan fares is pretty much a done deal since we all know how a mass oriented Eid release for Salman pans out, the bigger question is how it really connects with the masses.

The film promises everything you’d expect in a Salman Khan starrer and with him opting for substance driven cinema off late, Sultan may really pack a solid punch when it comes out this Eid.
