Suraj Pancholi booked by Mumbai police over charges of abetting Jiah Khan’s suicide

Fresh trouble begins for actor Aditya Pancholi’s son, Suraj Pancholi, who is set to mark his Bollywood debut soon in Hero remake, as he has been charged by Mumbai police with abetting late actress Jiah Khan’s suicide. A 500-page charge sheet has been filed against the actor in an Andheri court which clarifies the abetment charges.

Suraj and Jiah were involved in a romantic relationship and the former was the last person with whom Jiah spoke last before committing suicide. The 25-year-old Nishabd actress was found hanging in her apartment last June. After Jiah’s death Suraj was arrested and imprisoned for some weeks. In October the Bombay High Court directed the police to conduct further investigations into the unnatural death of Jiah as her mother Rabiya Khan filed a petition claiming it was a murder and not a suicide. She also demanded CBI probe into her daughter’s death. Rabiya told the media at that point of time that "she had strong reasons to suspect that the probe was carried out by police in a manner to look as if it was a suicide."
