Talent Is The Only Thing Makes You Survive, Even If You Are A Star Kid: Ayushmann Khurrana’s Take On Nepotism

The word ‘Nepotism’ is in the news for quite a long time. It all started with Kangana Ranaut who called filmmaker Karan Johar ‘the flag bearer of nepotism’. As the matter was dying down, Karan dug his own grave by cracking a joke on nepotism and mentioning the actress in it at the IIFA Awards, which fetched him hate comments by the netizens.

Now, actor Ayushmann Khurrana, at the trailer launch of 'Bareilly Ki Barfi’, said that it is the talent of the person who takes him ahead and not nepotism. He said, "I think in this day and age, talent only makes you survive and I think star kids Ranbir, Varun and Alia, who are doing well in this industry, are brilliantly talented and that's why they are surviving".

He added, "Probably, if you are a star kid, you can get a great launch and apart from that its your own talent that makes you stay here forever. And I think, if you are a star kid then your stakes are also very high and there is more pressure on you. So I think, right now it doesn't really matter whether you are a star kid or not".

Probably he wanted to say that nepotism can help a star kid in getting a break but can’t be responsible for his survival in the industry. On a related note, 'Bareilly Ki Barfi’ is scheduled for a release on August 18. It also stars Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon in lead roles.
